We at USK strongly believe in the two-paddle philosophy. Not only for having a spare paddle in case of breakage, we feel having a second paddle that allows you
to perform a different style of stroke gives you more options as conditions change and/or fatigue sets in. The location of that second paddle is important, especially
in rough conditions. The Northwater Paddle Britches secure to you forward deck lines and gives you a location to securely store your paddle. Having your second
paddle infront of you provides the easiest access to it.
The legs of the Britches are designed to hold the tube-end of your two-piece paddle so your blades can slip under your forward bungee cords.
The paddle stays in place when rough water comes over the bow. The Britches also has a large loop near the top that will allow you to slip your blade through to hold a
full length paddle in place. Always keeping safety in mind, Northwater has included some reflective tape for night time visibility when a light is shown on it.
We at USK are very impressed with this product and have attached them to our kayaks. We recommend you do the same and hope you adopt our "two-paddle philosophy."
